A French Bulldog Blog About 2 French Bulldog Puppies in San Diego, California (Actually, It’s Really All About Tink)
We have received tons of advice regarding raising our first puppy, however among all the advice we have received the one thing we hear over and over again is “Crate train your dog“. A month ago we thought putting a puppy in a crate was inhumane and we could never imagine putting our little frenchie in a crate. After further research, we have come to find out that crate training is very humane and in fact when done right the puppy actually develops a special relationship with the crate and sees it as a safe haven.
Perhaps the biggest rebuttal to our previous thoughts of crate training as inhumane is this article by the “Humane Society“.
Puppy crate training seems to be the way to go and we are currently on the hunt for the perfect crate for Tink. We have also purchased a book from Petco that was recommended to us as the best book on crate training a puppy. The book is called Super Simple Guide to Housetraining by Teoti Anderson.
We know life experiences can always teach us more than a book, so if anyone has a tip or two, please leave us a comment.
